Insert Items

On a sales order, or a sales quotation, in the Insert Items pane, the customer's Alternatives and Additionals for the item added, are listed. You can then insert or swap items. Press F3 to show or hide the pane, or click the splitter control on the right-hand border of the screen. The pane will stay open for the current and future transactions, for the current user. To close the pane, press F3 again.

• Alternatives and Additionals are displayed when a detail line is added.

  Note: Alternatives and Additionals are only displayed if they have been imported or configured on the Stock Card.

  

• You can add change the height of each section by dragging the splitter control.
• You can change the columns displayed in each section by clicking the menu button to the left of the column headings and changing the columns selected.

Inserting an Item into an Order or Quotation

Swapping to an Alternative

1. Create a sales order, so that the header information you want is entered, then add a line to the order.
2. If the Insert Items pane is not open, press F3.
3. Click the detail line. The Alternatives list is updated with Replace and Switch type swaps. The swap type can be configured on the Stock Card, or in an import file.
4. Click the alternative item. If you want to keep the price of the original line, select Keep price.
5. Press Enter to swap the item.

   Note: You can also tab to the Alternatives list, then press the down arrow to move to the item you want to swap into the order, before pressing Enter.

6. The item will:
   • Replace type – replace the item in the order with the alternative item.
   • Switch type – change the stock code for the item.
7. After the swap is attempted, in the Detail line list, a green double arrow icon is displayed if applied, or a red arrow icon is shown if a swap was prevented.

Inserting an Additional Item

1. Create a sales order, so that the header information you want is entered, then add a line to the order.
2. If the Insert Items pane is not open, press F3.
3. Click the detail line. The Additionals list is updated with additional items.
4. Click the additional item. If you want to keep the price of the original line, select Keep price.
5. Press Enter to add the item to the order.

   Note: You can also tab to the Additionals list, then press the down arrow to move to the item you want to swap into the order, before pressing Enter.
