Adding a Product

Products are usually added when importing catalogues. Adding a product can be done manually, for example, to add a single product to your own product catalogue.

  1. On the Stock menu, click Products. The Stock Card will open on the Browse tab.
  2. In the Stock Card toolbar, click Add. The Detail tab opens and focus moves to the Code box.

    Note: If the Add button is unavailable, an Own Products Catalogue may not have been selected in Set-up > Company > Settings > General.

  3. Complete the mandatory boxes:
    • Code – Item's code. An alphanumeric code, 30 characters max.
    • Description – 150 character item description
    • Retail – item's recommended retail price
    • Sell
    • Trade – item's trade price
    • Cost – item's cost
    • Pack – item's pack size
    • Default supplier
    • Range – product's range category
    • Group – product's group (within the product range)
    • Sub group – product's subgroup (within the product group)
  4. Click Confirm.
  5. Modify the product further.
