Shopping

The Shopping module takes sales orders, call-off orders and stock re-order quantities and generates purchase orders to place with your suppliers.

Shopping lets you:

  • Shop for stock;
  • Shop for back-to-back orders;
  • Shop to meet different delivery priorities;
  • Shop for different locations;
  • Shop with specific suppliers;
  • Shop for particular types of item;
  • Shop for orders created within a specified date range.

Horizon's Shopping module gives you a flexible approach to shopping, so you can choose to place the right orders at the right time.

Shopping for Orders

There are a large number of options you can choose from when shopping. However, the basic process is the same.

  1. From the Purchases menu, click Shopping.
  2. Shopping will open on the Required tab, and the Standard tab. Click Advanced for some more options.
  3. In the Shop for group, select an option button Stock and Orders, Orders or Shop By Van. The options that follow will change according to your choice.
  4. Select the options to limit or expand your shop:
  5. In the Shopping toolbar, click Search.
    • Stock and Orders – A list of items is displayed.
    • Orders and Shop by Van – A list of sales orders is displayed.

      Note: For composite products in a sales order (that is not a service), the composite product and the parts are all displayed.

  6. In the Shopping toolbar, click Shop for Selected. A progress bar is shown below the list. When complete, the Shopping List tab opens. A list of orders that can be raised is displayed.

    Note: At this point, no purchase orders have been created.

  7. In the Raise Orders for column, leave All Suppliers selected, or select specific suppliers.
  8. In the Show Products group, change the settings to change which products are displayed and how the orders are created.
  9. In the Shopping toolbar, click Raise Orders. A confirmation window is displayed. Click Yes to raise the orders now. The order list is cleared.
  10. To view the purchase orders, from the Purchases menu, click Orders & Returns. The orders will be in the daybook in the Today view.
