Horizon 4.82 Release Notes
Horizon 4.82 is scheduled to be released on 8 April 2025. It will be deployed to Horizon Cloud customers on 14 April and 22 April, from 8pm onwards.
New Features
Catalogue Update
In versions 4.81 and 4.82, we have introduced the following enhancements to Data Services catalogues:
- Added master product to improve product management and your customers' shopping experience.
- Included the Fusion UOM ID. We will use this to enhance item-to-product linking in future versions.
- Developed new standard import definitions for the catalogues we manage, ensuring new data is automatically incorporated.
To take advantage of the new features in Define Import, Import Product File and Automated Catalogue Updates you should:
- Change your Automatic Catalogue Update import definition to an ECI Standard definition.
- Use an ECI Standard Import definition when manually importing catalogues downloaded from the Data Services portal.
- Modify any Data Services catalogue import definitions you maintain to include master code (26) and Fusion UOM ID (27).
Catalogue Import
You want to import newly available catalogue data.
We're excited to help you unlock even more value from your catalogue data. In this and future releases, we're adding more data to products and items. New features will use this data, so, to make sure that every dealer can use these, we are creating three new standard catalogue import definitions for importing catalogues from Data Services Portal that we can add to in future versions. This lets us add new data columns to the standard import definitions as part of future releases, and you will not have to update the definition. When we add a new column, we'll add a new field to Define Import too, so you can add them to your own definitions. The definitions are called:
- ECI Standard UK Catalogue Import – this is the standard import with VAT codes that map to UK £ catalogues from FusionPlus
- ECI Standard IE Catalogue Import – this is the standard import with VAT codes that map to IRE € catalogues from FusionPlus
- ECI Standard UK Catalogue Import Short Description – this is the same as the ECI Standard UK import except it uses a Short Description.
To use the new standard definitions, you will need to:
- Ensure you have all the recommended VAT Codes set up.
- Choose an ECI Standard import definition in Data Services Portal, so the latest data is imported automatically. Read Update the Import Definition for Automated Catalogue Updates.
- Use an ECI Standard import definition when importing catalogues.
You want to import the FusionPlus Unit of Measure ID.
FusionPlus differentiate between different pack sizes using a unit of measure ID. If an item has a different unit of measure to the main one used for that item (e.g. a box of 6 rather than a single) then a different UOM ID is allocated. In Horizon, all items linked to a product should have the same unit of measure, so this will help you find discrepancies. We're adding UOM ID to:
- Catalogues downloaded from Data Services Portal
- Define Import
- ECI Standard Import definitions
- Catalogue Entry.
Note: If you have your own import definitions used to load Data Services portal catalogues, then you will need to add Fusion UOM ID: 27 to the definition.
Shopping
You want to see lead times in the Shopping List.
You can now add Supplier, Consumer and Dealer lead times to the Shopping List. We've also added them to the Suppliers grid to help you choose where to buy a product from.
Report Builder
You want to generate a report that includes images created from web addresses.
We've upgraded the version of Report Builder we're using. The new features in this version include being able to write a report that includes images from web addresses.
Phased rollout
We're rolling out this feature to customers one by one because it's a complicated installation. If you want to be one of the first to use this version, please email bjarvis@ecisolutions.com .
Order-Pads
You want to know when a Horizon pack has been set on an item when editing an order-pad.
When editing an order-pad, items with a Horizon pack, now display in teal. This feature, previously removed in the last release, has been reinstated in version 4.82.
Horizon Pack
You want orders from EvolutionX to apply Horizon Pack settings
We've expanded Horizon Pack to orders placed via Horizon API. This update aligns API orders with manually entered ones.
AutoMate
You want AutoMate to run reports that include cross tabs.
We’ve improved AutoMate to fully support Cross Tab reports, ensuring they complete successfully. You can generate reports with Email or PDF output.
Robot
You want Robot to skip customers without an accounts email.
We've enhanced how Robot handles invoice templates when the output is set to email but no accounts email is available. Robot will now skip that customer instead of attempting to print and write to the Robot log.
User Options
You want to hide the Comms tab for users.
We've added a new user security setting in Horizon that allows you to hide the Comms tab on the Trader card, for specific users. Show Trader Comms tab is selected by default.
Currency Symbols
You want the system to display no currency symbol when using base currency.
When a monetary value is in base currency, by convention, we do not display a currency symbol. Some of our components were displaying a £ sign, which is not correct if pound sterling is not your base currency. We've updated areas such as the Orders and Returns Daybook Pivot Tables, EPOS, so no currency symbol is displayed, to improve consistency.
Sales Delivery Notes
You want to ensure delivery note addresses cannot be modified.
Delivery address changes are now restricted on sales delivery notes. To update the delivery address, void the delivery note and deliver an amended sales order.
