Setting Up a Loyalty Points Conversion Rate
Loyalty points are a great way to reward your customers, whether you're awarding them for every unit of spend or for specific products. The Loyalty point conversion rate determines how spend is translated into loyalty points, so it’s important to set it up correctly.
Make Every Unit Count
If your conversion rate is set to 1:1 (one point per 1 unit of currency), customers may miss out on points when prices include minor units (like ¤4.99 or ¤7.49). In these cases, the system may only count whole units, meaning the customer earns fewer points than they actually spent.
To provide a fairer, more accurate experience, consider using a higher conversion rate, such as 100:1. This means 100 points equal 1 major unit of currency, allowing you to reward customers for every minor unit spent, so nothing gets missed.
Why It Matters
Setting the right conversion rate helps you:
- Deliver more accurate, rewarding experiences
- Build trust and encourage repeat business
- Align your loyalty programme with your business goals.
How to Set Your Conversion Rate
- From the Set-up menu, click Web.
- Click the Rules tab.
- In the Loyalty point conversion rate box, type how many loyalty points equal 1 major unit of your base currency (e.g. 100 for 1.00). The system will display the reverse calculation for clarity.
