How Loyalty Points Are Calculated
Loyalty points can be awarded by Spend, Product, Catalogue, Sector, Range, Group or Subgroup.
Loyalty points are always awarded by spend - the price on the sales order. Additional points can be awarded according to a hierarchy, where loyalty points are only awarded to the highest category. Any values entered for a lower category will be ignored.
A loyalty points conversion rate is set in Horizon in Web Set-up.
Note: In the following example, a 1:1 conversion rate is used, which illustrates what happens when one major currency unit is converted to one loyalty point. Notice that the minor currency units do not meet the threshold for another loyalty point being awarded. If you want to award loyalty points for minor units, then consider using a conversion rate of 1:100 or greater. If you have previously awarded loyalty points using a 1:1 rate, then you will need to manually update contacts' points.
Loyalty points are calculated for each detail line on its price. Product loyalty points are then added.
EXAMPLE
An order contains three lines with product 3 having an additional Loyalty Points reward.
Product | Sale Price | Loyalty Points on Spend | Loyalty Points on Products | Total |
---|---|---|---|---|
Product 1 | £10.82 | 10 | ||
Product 2 | £14.99 | 14 | ||
Product 3 | £24.97 | 24 | 100 | |
Total | 48 | 100 | 148 |
Loyalty Points are added to a contact or trader after the invoice or credit has been posted.
