Setting Up Sales Data Extract

Once steps 1, 2 and 3 have been configured, then step 4 is completing the set up in Horizon:

  1. In the Set-up menu, click Company.
  2. Click Sales Data Extract.
  3. Complete the FTP Settings. These will be given to you by sales-i.
    • Host – address of the FTP server. Do not type the ftp:// protocol prefix. That is added by Horizon for you.
    • Username – your username for the FTP account
    • Password – FTP account password
    • Folder – folder within the FTP account where the data will be uploaded.
    • Select Passive if sales-i have set up their server to use passive mode.
  4. Click Confirm.

Testing the Connection Using Manual Export

After the FTP Settings have been saved, a manual export can be used to test the connection.

  1. Under Manual Export, in the From box, select a date from which the sales data should start.
  2. If this is the first data upload, select Initial.
  3. Click Export. Information about the sales data extract and upload is recorded in Logs (accessible via a Horizon Super User). Use this information to troubleshoot the connection.

Scheduling a Sales Data Upload

Subsequent sales data extracts are run automatically by the Orders and Receipts Import Service. To schedule when the next extract and upload will run:

  1. Under Schedule, in the Next update box, use the calendar to select a date and time.
  2. From the list to the right, click a frequency to describe when subsequent sales data extracts will take place.
  3. Select Active to put the scheduled task in use.
  4. Click Confirm.

The date and time the scheduled task last ran is displayed.
