Accessing Your Local Files in Horizon Cloud
Note: We are changing the way that you access local files on Horizon. During the transition, you will see two tabs on open file and save file dialogue boxes, Local Disk and Local. Only one of these will let you access your local files.
- There are several places in Horizon where you open or save a file. When you click a search button, a File Explorer window opens.
- In the left-hand pane there are two or three tabs:
- Locate file – these are your remote files stored on our servers
- Local disk – these are files stored on your computer. A folder for each drive on your computer is displayed, named \\tsclient\X , where X is the mapped drive letter (external link) you have set up on your computer.
- Local – these are files stored on your computer. A folder for each drive on your computer is displayed, named Client X, where X is the mapped drive letter (external link) you have set up on your computer. If the letter is not available on our server, an alternative letter is shown in brackets. This is used in the path shown in File boxes. It does not mean that this mapped drive needs to exist on your PC.
- Browse to the file you want to open, or to the location you want to save.
Example
You have downloaded a catalogue to your default download folder.
On your PC, either extract your catalogue archive (the CSV file will be within a new folder) or locate the zip archive in your Downloads folder.
From Horizon > Import Files, browse to Local disk > \\tsclient\C\Users\username\Downloads to find the ZIP archive, or the new folder you extracted, containing the CSV.
or
From Horizon > Import Files, browse to Local >This PC > Client C (M:) > Users > <username> > Downloads to find the ZIP archive, or the new folder you extracted, containing the CSV. When the File path is shown, M will be displayed, not C.
