Business Types
Business Types can be allocated to traders. A list of types is included in your database, but other types can be created. A business type can have subtypes which are created in the lower pane.
Creating a Business Type
- On the Set-up menu, click Business Types.
- Check that the business type has not already been created. You can sort the business types by clicking on the column header.
- Click in the row above the list and type a new business type.
- Optionally, add an SIC code (external link) for the business type. Note that business subtypes do not have SIC codes, so if you need to use these codes in a report, each classification will need to be a business type, not a subtype.
- Click the green tick below the list.
Creating a Business Subtype
- Click a business type in the top pane.
- Click in the row above the subtype list and type a new business subtype.
- Click the green tick below the list.
The buttons below the list:
- + – add a new type
- - – delete the selected type
- ✓ – confirm changes to the type
- ✗ – cancel changes
Horizon users can be given access to Business Types in Define Security.
